New Delhi, April 13 (IANS) A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death following a quarrel with her neighbours in Delhi, an official said on Saturday.
A 15-year-old girl has been apprehended for fatally stabbing a woman in a dispute over water in Delhi's Farsh Bazar area. The incident, which occurred after a scuffle over filling water from a common tap, resulted in the death of the 34-year-old victim. The accused has been sent to a correction facility, and the police are investigating the case.

Two days after a 34-year-old woman was killed during a brawl over water in Shahdara's Farsh Bazar locality, police have detained a 15-year-old girl for the murder and sent her to a correction facility after producing her before the juvenile justice board.

The girl, who lived with her parents in a house opposite the deceased, was involved in a scuffle over filling of water from a common tap, which subsequently escalated into a murder.

Earlier on Friday, police received a PCR call around 11 pm regarding a stabbing incident. When they arrived at the spot, the cops found a woman injured on the floor, with two-to-three cut marks on her left hand and a small wound on her stomach. She was taken to hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered. The police investigation revealed that around 7.30 pm, the 35-year-old woman and her husband had an altercation with their neighbor's wife and daughter over filling of water from the common tap on the first floor of the house.

The woman allegedly twisted the girl's hand in a fit of rage. The girl was then taken to hospital for first aid and treatment. An X-ray of her hand was conducted, and she was sent home.

Later at night, the teen and her mother returned to their room and had a fight again with the woman and her husband. During this fight, the woman was stabbed in her stomach with a kitchen knife by the girl.

Initial reports suggested that the stab injury caused internal bleeding, which led to her death. DCP (Shahdara) Surendra Chowdhary said the girl was the main accused in the case.

"In the videos that were shot during the altercation, the girl was seen using strong obscene language towards the deceased," a senior police officer said.

DCP Chowdhary had said: "Both families were known to frequently engage in arguments and altercations with each other over trivial matters. Earlier that evening, they had a fight over filling of water."

The accused's family had claimed that the injuries to the woman were self-inflicted. A squabble over filling water from a common tap on Friday morning took a fatal turn by the evening when a teenage girl stabbed her neighbor – a 34-year-old woman – to death with a kitchen knife, police said.
