Guwahati: Amidst tight security the assembly session of the Manipur assembly started on Wednesday, ten Kuki-Zomi-Hmar MLAs of Manipur including two ministers did not attend the session.

One of the MLA among the ten, Haokholet Kipgen from Saitu constituency in Kangpokpi had sought a leave of absence from the session beginning Wednesday.

The session, scheduled to run until March 5, will span five working days. Wednesday marked the commencement of the 5th session of the 12th Assembly of Manipur, inaugurated by Governor Anusuiya Uikey.
