Nudge foundation ties up with Godrej to train aspiring beauticians, impart life skills

BENGALURU: The Nudge foundation announced a partnership with Godrej Saloni, the CSR initiative of Godrej Consumer Products Limited. It will focus on training apsiring beautician and imparting life-skills at residential Gurukuls across India. The partnership aims to help 100,000 people in the next 5 years.

Speaking on the occasion, Poulami Pal, Deputy General Manager, Godrej Consumer Products Limited said that the Godrej Saloni plans to pull 1 million people out of poverty by the year 2020 and Nudge foundation would be an ideal partner in this case.

"There exists a lot of synergy between the goals at Godrej Saloni and The/Nudge Foundation. It made complete sense for us to come together in our efforts to eliminate poverty and provide those benefiting with not only a livelihood, but a life as well." she added.

Atul Satija, founder and CEO of The Nudge foundation expressed hope to help unskilled workers get mainstreamed into the workforce of India's growing economy with the training.

"With the partnership with Godrej, we have now taken a large step towards the fulfilment of our goals. We are well poised to take on and eradicate the bane of poverty. Through an innovative approach to poverty alleviation, our aims include imparting life-skills, literacy as well as providing livelihoods to the poor in an integrated fashion at residential "Gurukuls".

The Foundation which was launched on July 27, 2015, boasts of an illustrious team of Board & Advisory members including Arun Seth, Hugo Barra, Naveen Tewari of InMobi and Neeraj Arora of Whatsapp. It also recently announced a $200K donation from Nandan Nilekani, former CEO of Infosys.
