Jio AirFiber: How much it will cost, where and how you can buy it? Here are details

Reliance launched Jio Airfiber on the auspicious occassion of Ganesh Chaturthi today in eight cities- Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. "With JioAirFiber, we are expanding our addressable market to rapidly cover every home in our country with similar quality of service. JioAirFiber will enable millions of homes with world-class digital entertainment, smart home services and broadband, through its solutions across education, health, surveillance and smart home," Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm said at the launch.

At last year's AGM, Jio had revealed the AirFiber 5G hotspot device. The product has not yet been made available for purchase. AirFiber is a 5G hotspot device that provides wireless fiber-like 5G speeds at home or in the office.

What's Jio Airfiber
Jio Airfiber intends to provide fibre-like speed without the use of wires. Jio AirFiber offers internet rates of up to 1.5 Gbps, which is faster than Jio Fiber's 1 Gbps speed.


According to the information on the Jio website, JioAirFiber can only be utilized by plugging it in and turning it on. Users will be able to have their own personal Wi-Fi hotspot in their house, which will be connected to ultra-high-speed internet via True 5G.

"You just have to plug it in, turn it on, and voilà! You now have a personal Wi-Fi hotspot in your home, connected to ultra-high-speed internet using True 5G," Jio said in a statement.

What's the price for Jio Air Fiber?
As per the official release, it said that the home devices will be provided at no additional cost:

• WiFi router for ubiquitous coverage in your home or business premise
• 4k Smart Set Top Box
• Voice-active remote

Jio Air Fiber Plans
The JioAirFiber plans will start from Rs 599, while the JioAirFiber Max will be priced upwards of Rs 1499.

Jio also said that existing JioFiber tariff plans continue as is and there is no change in existing user tariffs.
