Red Fort Light and Sound Show opens for public: How to book tickets, timings, ticket prices

The much-awaited Light and Sound Show at Red Fort has been open for public. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had officially launched the new innovative Sound & Light Show at the Red Fort on January 10. The 60-minute show is titled as ‘Jai Hind’.

The show is the first Sound and Light production to ever use live actors and cutting-edge digital art technology at a historical site. The revamped light and sound show titled ‘Jai Hind’ is a dramatic retelling of India’s story from ancient history to the modern day.

The one-hour long Show, divided into three parts, has key episodes from India’s history including the rise of the Marathas, the 1857 War of Independence, the rise of the Indian National Army and the INA trials. The final part of the show will see freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and others being projected on the walls of the fort and finally culminate in a portrait sequence of all Indian prime ministers.


Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan narrates the show, WAQT, which is a walkthrough performance staged at the three most well-known sites in Red Fort: Naubat Khana, Diwan-e-Aam, and Diwan-e-Khas.

The show will be showcased to general public in English and Hindi Languages with a seating arrangement of 700 people for a one time watch.

The Light and Sound Show in Red Fort is commencing afresh after a gap of almost 5 years.
