Jio launches 'India's most affordable 4G phone': Here is how to buy Jio Bharat phone at just Rs 999

India's biggest telecom company, Reliance Jio, has launched internet-enabled Jio Bharat phones at just Rs 999. The company has launched the phone with a motto to accelerate the '2G Mukt Bharat' vision. The budget phone will be available with a monthly plan of Rs 123 for unlimited voice calls and 14 GB data.

The company said the Beta trial for first 1 million Jio Bharat phones has started on July 7. It also said that besides Reliance Retail, other phone brands (starting with Karbonn) will adopt the 'Jio Bharat platform' to build 'Jio Bharat phones'.

Interested buyers can purchase the Jio Bharat Phone by visiting Reliance Digital stores, Jio retail outlets, and other retail outlets across the country.

Along with the device, Jio is offering cheaper prepaid plans for Jio Bharat Phone users. These plans include a combination of voice calls, data benefits, and access to Jio apps.

It claimed that it is offering 30 per cent cheaper monthly plan and 7 times more data compared to feature phone offerings of other operators. "Rs 123 per month for unlimited voice calls and 14 GB data, compared to other operators' Rs 179 plan for voice calls and 2GB data," the company statement said.

The company is also offering Annual Plans with Jio Bharat Phone. The user can purchase the annual plan at Rs 1,234 which will offer a total of 168GB of data (0.5GB per day) along with unlimited calling.
