India's transportation lifeline, Indian Railways, connects millions of people across the country everyday. Whether you are a passenger or simply accompanying someone to the station, it is important to have a platform ticket to access the train platforms. In this digital era, the Indian Railways has made the process of purchasing platform tickets easier by introducing online booking services through an app -UTS. The train-specific app is available for download on the Google Play Store

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to buy Indian Railways platform tickets online.
1: Sign up to the app and register your details. Don’t forget to recharge your R-wallet via UPI, net banking, credit card, or debit card. The users of the UTS app will automatically get a 3% bonus on the R-wallet charge.


2. Select the Platform Booking option on the app's homepage.

3. The app will trace your location to give you options about the nearest stations.

4. Select the options paperless or paper.

5: Select station name for which you want to buy the platform ticket. Select the number of tickets you want to buy and payment options. The app has Rwallet option along with other options like debit card, credit card, netbanking, UPI.

6: Select Book ticket button

7: After successful payment a ticket will be generated which can also be found in your booked history option.

8. By selecting the "show ticket" option on the UTS app, tickets can be viewed.

9. Paper tickets can be printed using the booking ID that was obtained in a notice in the UTS app at the Automatic ticket vending machine (ATVM) or general booking counter.

10. Paperless ticket cancellation is not permitted. With the app's "Show Ticket" feature, a user can present their ticket to the TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) or TC.
