How to apply for the new 'BH' Bharat Series vehicle number
You will first need a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the Parent State of your vehicle for assigning a new registration mark in another state.

“This vehicle registration facility under the Bharat series (BH-series) will be available on a voluntary basis to defense personnel, employees of the central government/ state government/ central/ state public sector undertakings and private sector companies/organisations, which have their offices in four or more states/Union territories,” the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement.
Here's how you can apply for it
- You will first need a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the Parent State of your vehicle for assigning a new registration mark in another state.
- Once the road tax on a pro-rata basis is paid in the new state, a new registration mark will be assigned.
- You will then need to file an application for a refund of the road tax in the parent state.
The registration mark will be in a YY BH #### XX format - where YY denotes the year of first registration, BH is code for Bharat Series, #### is the randomised four digit number and XX are two alphabets.
