If you live in Delhi and have a challan against your vehicle registration number, you can ask the District Magistrate to lower the fine or even to have the challan remitted. Those who violate the law for any kind of infraction—such as insurance, red light jumping, speeding, overspeeding, or pollution—have the option to appear in court and ask to have the fine reduced or the entire ticket dismissed.
This information was just given by Delhi Traffic Police on Twitter. All tickets issued to private and commercial cars for breaking traffic laws would be resolved at the National Lok Adalat, as per the post. On October 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can go to your closest court in the National Lok Adalat if you have an outstanding challan or simply want the sum of your challan cancelled or decreased.
In order to settle their case, violators must get an e-challan and visit the National Lok Adalat. Those who wish to visit Adalat must first make a reservation.
The National Lok Adalat 2023 online reservation process is as follows:
1. Use your challan number to make a reservation on the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat website.
3. The notice sheet that can be downloaded will include the court's address.
4. Show up at the designated time and place in the appropriate court.
5. Present thechallan to the magistrate and ask for a remission or reduction of the fine.
