Will ChatGPT take my job? Here are 20 professions that could be replaced by AI

Since the emergence of OpenAI's ChatGPT - an artificial intelligence powered chatbot - amateur access to AI has skyrocketed, with people using the platform for myriad reasons, from writing assignments and fake movie scenarios to sermons and scripts.

As ChatGPT technology continues to expand, concerns that AI could replace human employees have taken root, with one such concerned user asking ChatGPT what jobs it thought it could take over.

The OpenAI chatbot responded with a list of 20 jobs that it could potentially replace:

2. Customer Service Representative
3. Proofreader
4. Paralegal
5. Bookkeeper
6. Translator
7. Copywriter
8. Market Research Analyst
9. Social Media Manager
10. Appointment Scheduler
11. Telemarketer
12. Virtual Assistant
13. Transcriptionist
14. News Reporter
15. Travel Agent
16. Tutor
17. Technical Support Analyst
18. Email Marketer
19. Content Moderator
20. Recruiter

The software also listed the traits that it would be replacing in these professions; for instance, if replacing a data entry clerk the software would have the speed and accuracy necessary for the job.



With a recent World Economic Forum report saying that 85 million jobs would be dispaced by 2025 as a direct consequence of the tug-of-war between humans and machines, these scenarios might seems increasingly likely. However, there is cause for hope, yet.

The same report says that even more roles will open as a result of this shift, more, in fact, that the jobs lost. About 97 million "jobs of the future" are likely to open up, thanks to AI taking over the menial, repetitive jobs. These include jobs in recruitment and jobs that help improve artificial intelligence technology.
