JORHAT (Assam): An adult male rhino on Saturday created panic in Kaziranga National Park for over three hours as it attempted to get out of the Park in search of a female in this mating season, sources said.

Forest guards struggled hard to chase the rhino back into the Park as it attempted to stray outside, Park sources said.

The Park authorities deployed three elephants along with forest guards to push the rhino back into the Park and several shots were fired in the air.

The rhino killed some cows grazing in the area and tried to attack the elephants but the guards managed to push it back to the Park's Kohora range near Mihimukh.

A rhino had attacked and seriously injured a constable of the forest battalion in the Park's Bagori range on Friday.
