IPS officer booked for killing two stray dogs

An IPS officer has been booked under the Animal Cruelty Act for allegedly killing two stray dogs after snatching the Ak 47 rifle of his gunman.

AMRITSAR: An IPS officer has been booked under the Animal Cruelty Act for allegedly killing two stray dogs after snatching the Ak 47 rifle of his gunman.

A case was registered against T P Singh today at civil line police station under the Animal Cruelty Act and injuring his gunman with official rifle, police said.

Singh allegedly snatched Ak 47 rifle of his gunman and killed two dogs yesterday. His gunman -- Baj Singh -- also got bullet injury in his leg when he attempted to stop the officer, they said.

Singh is posted as a commandant in Punjab Armed Police at Jalandhar but was in Amritsar, where his family stays, when the incident occurred.
