Increasing stray dog menace in Erode

Erode municipal corporation is not initiating any steps to control the increasing stray dog menace in the district, Municipal Concillor P Anbhazhagn said.

ERODE: Erode municipal corporation is not initiating any steps to control the increasing stray dog menace in the district, Municipal Concillor P Anbhazhagn said.

In the recently held Municipality Corporation meeting, he said minimum 100 stray dogs were roaming in every ward in the district. The menace of stray dogs near the meat stalls in Kasipalayam area was also creating problems to the residents, he said.

On why any steps were not taken to eradicate the stray dogs in the area, the corporation officials said the norms and rules of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was very strict.
