3,000 goats sacrificed at Nashik fair

NASHIK: As many as 3,000 goats have been sacrificed by devotees at the Satimata-Samantdada fair in Vadangali village so far, reports reaching said.

The animals were offered as a 'bali' at the village shrine of the banjara community during the fair which began yesterday, it said.

Atleast two lakh devotees from various parts of the country especially from Khandesh and Madhya Pradesh thronged the shrine to witness the ritual.

A 'mahapooja' of satimata-samantdada was performed by Zila Parishad Chairperson Rajendra Chavanke and SDO Datta Borude, the reports said.
