18 more forest guards appointed at Rajaji National Park

To step up security arrangements at Rajaji National Park in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand government has appointed 18 more forest guards inside the wildlife park, increasing their total strength to 132, officials said.

DEHRADUN: To step up security arrangements at Rajaji National Park in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand government has appointed 18 more forest guards inside the wildlife park, increasing their total strength to 132, officials said.

The Rajaji Park, which houses Asiatic elephants, tigers and other magnificent wild animals, is spread over an area of 820 square kilometers and 114 forest guards were taking care of its security till now.

The process of appointment of 18 more forest guards in the park was initiated last month.
