People turn out in large numbers to run for Ganga

ALLAHABAD: People enthusiastically participated in the ' Run for Ganga' programme organised on Sunday to create awareness on the need of a pollution free Ganga. Justice DP Singh flagged off the race that started from Company Bagh and passed through Hanuman Mandir Crossing, Medical College Crossing, Balson Crossing, Hindu Hostel before ending at Company Bagh.

Despite the chilly weather, excitement was writ large on the faces of the participants who ran for the cause of Ganga.

During the race, banners were also placed at various points urging people to take steps for making the river Ganga pollution free and desisting from throwing polythene, packets and in the river.
