RAJKOT: The National Green Tribunal Delhi came down heavily on all states in regards with solid waste management and said that if they fail to appear on February 5, it will impose fine of Rs 50,000 on each member secretary.

The state of affairs with respect to solid waste management is extremely poor amid PM Narendra Modi's "Clean India" campaign.

The NGT is hearing a petition filed by Almitra Patel of Bengaluru.

Patel had filed a petition in the Supreme Court and it was transferred to the NGT.

Modi talks about clean India but the country does not have any solid waste management system.
