MPCB notice to over 5,000 private hospitals in Kolhapur region

Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has issued a show-cause notice to 5,638 private hospitals here for not disposing bio medical waste.

KOLHAPUR: Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has issued a show-cause notice to 5,638 private hospitals here for not disposing bio medical waste.

As many as 5,638 private hospitals in Kolhapur region including Kolhapur, Sangli, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts were issued show cause notices last week for not disposing bio-medical waste, MPCB regional officer Dilip Khedakar said.

MPCB will register a case against these hospitals if they do not dispose the waste within the given time, he said.
