Haryana Pollution Board issues 383 challans

Haryana State Pollution Control Board, along with municipal authorities, issued 383 challans for violating the ban on carrying plastic bags during this month.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB), along with municipal authorities, issued 383 challans for violating the ban on carrying plastic bags during this month.

The highest number of challans (109) was issued in Hisar district while Kaithal district with five recorded the lowest, a HSPCB spokesperson said today.

The other districts where significant numbers of challans issued are Bahadurgarh (52), Faridabad (44), Panchkula (41), Sonipat (28), Rewari (26) and Gurgaon and Panipat (21 each).

A notification banning the manufacturing and use of plastic carry bags of less than 40 microns and size less than 12" X 18" was recently issued by the state government on February 3.
