Anti-Pepsi activists held a secretariat march and dharna demanding closure of the Pepsi Cola plant at Kanchikode in Palakkad district.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anti-Pepsi activists on Tuesday held a secretariat march and dharna demanding closure of the Pepsi Cola plant at Kanchikode in Palakkad district.

The protesters said despite complaints of over-exploitation of groundwater and pollution, the government was not taking any steps to order the plant's closure.

The march and dharna were led by anti-Pepsi agitation committee convenor K P Suresh Raj, chairman Vilayadi Venugopal and R Ajayan.

Human Rights Commission former Chairman S Balaraman inaugurated the dharna.
