Ban on old diesel vehicles in Delhi: Green panel extends stay till May 18
The National Green Tribunal on Friday extended till May 18 the stay on its ban order on 10-year-old diesel vehicles plying in Delhi.
The Green panel pulled up the Centre and the Delhi government for not submitting their suggestions/comments on banning more than 10 year old vehicles, capping the total number of registrations, hiking parking fee and other interventions to bring down air pollution in Delhi.
The bench, while extending the stay for two more weeks, ordered the departments submit their views.

Additional solicitor general, Pinky Anand suggested that all departments will submit common suggestions on the matter within two weeks.
She said implementing the ban will affect essential services.
When the bench was asked about implementation of a ban on more than 15-year-old vehicles, Anand said the Centre in principle agrees with it but is not able to confirm immediately whether it can be implemented.
