White tiger in Indore zoo dies

A 14-year-old white tiger died of cancer today at the government run Kamla Nehru Zoo here, officials said.

INDORE: A 14-year-old white tiger died of cancer today at the government run Kamla Nehru Zoo here, officials said.

Even after putting in a hard labour, we could not save the tiger named Shyamu, an official said.

The striped animal had been brought here in March, 2008 from Maharashtra's Aurangabad zoo.

With Shyamu's death, the number of white tigers has come down to six in the zoo, officials said.
