JORHAT: Kaziranga lost two more one-horned rhinos in a month. Forest staff found carcasses of two rhinos in the park's Kohora range on Sunday. Park authorities said both rhinos died due to natural causes.

The first rhino carcass was found near Lengtajan anti-poaching camp and the other was found near Kaziranga forest beat.

"Our staff found two rhino carcasses in the park's Kohora forest range on Sunday. The two rhinos died in separate locations and due to different causes. However, the reasons were completely natural," said chief wildlife conservator of forest (Kaziranga) NK Vasu.

He said, "One rhinos died of old age while the other, which was about three months old, fell prey to tigers. Tigers attacked the rhino calf and it sustained serious injuries. Later the calf succumbed to its injuries." tnn
