LAKHIMPUR: In wake of heavy rains, tourist activities in Dudhwa National Park have been suspended for a week.

"Owing to the incessant rains since yesterday, roads and corridors inside the reserve have been waterlogged, making almost impossible for the tourists' vehicles to ply on.

"The earthen roads have become highly slippery while some of the areas have become unsuitable for visitors due to which tourists activities in the park have been suspended for a week," Ganesh Bhat, Deputy Director, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve said.

Situation will be periodically reviewed and if conditions improve, the park would be opened for the tourists from next week, he said.

The famous Dudhwa National Park is opened for tourists on November 15 every year and visitors are allowed to visit the park till June 15, after which it is closed due to monsoon.
