Tiger found dead in Valmiki Tiger Reserve

A tiger was found dead in a canal in Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar’s West Champaran district today, forest official said.

BAGAHA (Bihar): A tiger was found dead in a canal in Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in Bihar’s West Champaran district today, forest official said.

The forest guards found the carcass of the tiger in Sikpiya canal on road number seven of Madanpur forest range of VTR, divisional forest officer (DFO) Nandkishore said.

The carcass has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of the feline's death, he said.

There were about 20 tigers in VTR as per the last census conducted four years ago.
