NAINITAL: In the second such incident in the past one week, a tiger has been found dead in the Jim Corbett National Park.

Forest officials claimed that the 11 year-old- wildcat, whose decayed body was found in the Dhaila range yesterday by park officials during their routine visit, died in a fight with another tiger.

Vinod Kumar, director Corbett National Park, denied reports in the media that the tiger's vital organs were missing.

"All organs of the tiger have been found intact. However, the back portion of the body was eaten by another wildcat. The postmortem report reveals that the dead tiger was male. Clearly it is not a case of poaching," Kumar said.

On March 10, the body of another 10-year-old tiger was found under similar circumstances in the same range.
