Three arrested for killing spotted deer

Forest officials arrested three persons for allegedly hunting and killing a spotted deer at Bandipore wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka and seized 35 kg of game flesh from them.

KALPETTA (Kerala): Forest officials arrested three persons here for allegedly hunting and killing a spotted deer at Bandipore wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka and seized 35 kg of game flesh from them.

The arrested were identified as Abdul Rahiman (36), Muhammad Kutty (60) and Abdul Majeed (44).

According to C T Jojo, wildlife warden, Wayanad, the trio were part of a five-member gang which hunted and killed a spotted deer in Bandipore sanctuary, about 70 km from here on Saturday.

The animal was skinned and the flesh was brought to the house of one of them at Beenachi near here.

Acting on a tip-off, the wildlife officials searched the house and seized semi-processed flesh from there.

Meanwhile, the other two managed to escape.
