GONDIA: The carcass of a spotted deer was found in the Kodelohara beat under Tiroda forest range in Gondia on Monday.

Forest officials claimed that the deer was killed by some wild dogs. There was already rumor of a tiger prowling in Tiroda forest range. So, there was apprehension that the deer must have been killed by the tiger.

Beat guard Gondule and forester Pathan reached the spot and on inspection, ruled out the possibility of a tiger attack. After post mortem by Dr Pachpute, president of forest management committee, Ghanshyam Rahangdale confirmed that the animal was killed by dogs.
