JAIPUR: A sloth bear has been found roaming around the Slopka area of the Sariska Tiger reserve. The bear was spotted on April 13 last year at the Saloli Village near Malakheda, Rajghar area of the reserve. It was then tranquilized by Dr Arvind Mathur, a vet of of the Jaipur Zoo with help of other zoo officials. The bear was relocated to the park. Since then, the lone bear has been roaming in the forest in search of a company but without any success. According to Dinesh Verma Durrani, founder secretary of the Sariska Tiger Foundation, several letters has been written in this context to officials of the forest department for relocating a female bear but in vain.
