Six persons were apprehended by forest officials and two leopard skins seized from them in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.

GOPESHWAR (U'khand): Six persons were apprehended by forest officials and two leopard skins seized from them in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.

Acting on a tip-off, forest officials conducted a raid at Nandprayag area in the district and apprehended the six poachers yesterday, officials said.

During interrogation, the men said they had come to Nandprayag for selling the leopard skins to a person.

The six were booked under Wildlife Protection Act, the officials said, adding that efforts are on to nab the person to whom the leopard skins were to be delivered.
