Poachers kill rhino, leopard in Kaziranga

GUWAHATI: A rhino and a leopard were killed by suspected poachers in the Kaziranga National Park, officials said on Wednesday.

The carcass of the female rhino with a missing horn was recovered by forest guards this morning near the western part of Dimoli forest camp under the park's Bagori range. This is the eleventh rhino killed in Kaziranga this year, park officials said.

A female leopard's carcass was also found last night near Mikirjam forest camp under Kohora range of the park.

This is the tenth leopard killed during the year in Kaziranga, the officials added.
