The decision was taken after his meeting with top officials of state forest department, CNP officials and other wildlife conservators on Wednesday, Bahuguna said. He said that meeting was held after a number of complaints of spurt in the cases of poaching.
He said more steps will be taken to prevent the entry of poachers in CNP soon.
"As security of tigers and other animals in CNP is on the top of our priorities' list, we will do everything to ensure adequate security for the animals," Bahuguna said.
Bahuguna also announce Rs 5 lakh compensation to the next of kin of forest department employees killed by tigers or other wild animals on duty in the state. He said that Rs 2 lakh each will be given to next of kin of those officials injured by wild animals while on duty.
