NGO offer services for bird rescue during Uttrayan

VADODARA: Even as most revelers would be busy flying kites from Saturday onwards, unmindful of making skies accident prone for the winged creatures, a dedicated band of volunteers, NGOs and some foresters would be ready with their tools and services to rescue the unfortunate winged victims who may get their wings or tiny bodies slashed with the killer ‘ manja’ ( kite string).

For those few uninitiated, who are now waking up to the dangers of birds falling prey to the maze of kite strings criss-crossing the skies during Uttrayan, the wild life NGOs and staff of veterinary polyclinic at Vadodara have also arranged for a two-day bird rescue and treatment camp at the hospital, on January 14 and 15 to create awareness about the menace.
