Mystery shrouds death of 4 wild boars

NAGPUR: Mystery shrouds death of four wild boars outside Umred-Karhandla wildlife sanctuary on Monday night. The carcass of the boars - two male, a female and a young boar - were found on Umred-Bhiwapur road.

It is suspected that the boars might have been electrocuted or poisoned and thrown on the road to establish they died in a road mishap.

Sources said there were no injury marks on the body of the wild boars. "There are farms nearby and the mammals may have been killed somewhere else," they said.

The animals were buried after panchnama. The post-mortem report is awaited.
