Man sentenced for possessing leopard skin

A man from Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested with leopard skin, has been convicted and sentenced to four years imprisonment for possessing the animal parts.

NEW DELHI: A man from Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested with leopard skin, has been convicted and sentenced to four years imprisonment for possessing the animal parts.

Sumiran of Bhadehar Village Kapilwastu District was arrested with a leopard skin in 2007 by Forest Department officials in Siddharth Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

A case was lodged under various sections of Wildlife Protection Act-1972, according to a press release.
