Man-eater crocodile captured in Orissa

A man-eater crocodile have been captured from Orissa's Kendrapara district.

KENDRAPARA (Orissa): A man-eater crocodile have been captured from Orissa's Kendrapara district.

The aquatic reptile, which had strayed into human habitations and killed villagers in the district, was caught on Saturday from Brahmani river in Keredagada village near Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary, official sources said.

A group of skilled fishermen were entrusted with work to capture the crocodile which had killed six persons in the district, they said, adding that the animal was later released in the wild in the sanctuary.

Last week, some crocodiles, strayed from their habitats into water bodies in and around human settlements, killed two persons in peripheral village of the sanctuary.
