Chief conservator of forests (CCF) Pankja Shrivastav said leopard fell into the well in agricultural farm near Bistan village on Wednesday. Leopard was released in Omkareshwar National Park on Thursday after conducting necessary medical checkup.

Assistant Forest ranger A K Mishra, who was heading the rescue operation, said leopard fell into 15 feet deep open well while chasing a rabbit. They first tranquilised the leopard and brought him out of the well in a cage. "Leopard was later taken to Khargone fro medical checkup where doctors found him fit. In the evening the leopard was released in wild after feeding," said Mishra.
