Leopard found dead

DEHRADUN: A leopard was found dead while another was injured after being caught in fencing in Rudraprayag district, officials said.

The carcass of the nine-year-old leopardess was found in a field at Jakholi range of the district yesterday by villagers who informed forest officials.

A postmortem revealed that the animal died of pneumonia.

In another incident, a leopard was injured after being caught in fencing in a field at Agastmuni area. The forest officials yesterday shifted the animal to a nearby hospital where it is receiving treatment.
