Leopard dies in transit

NASHIK: A five-year-old leopard, trapped by the forest officials in an agricultural field at Hatti died, while it was being transported to Surgana for medical treatement, official sources said.

The leopard was asleep in a field at Hatti on Fiday when it was trapped alive and was being shifted to Surgana when it died on way, official said.

The wildcat was later brought to Nashik for postmortem, after which the reason behind his death would be ascertained, sources added.
