Leopard caught by forest dept

A man-eater leopard was caught by a forest department team from Katarniyaghat wildlife area, officials said.

BAHRAICH (UP): A man-eater leopard was caught by a forest department team from Katarniyaghat wildlife area, officials said.

"The leopard, which killed a boy recently, was caught from residential area of the wildlife sanctuary yesterday. The wild cat has been sent to Kanpur zoo," divisional forest officer R K Singh said.

The leopard had killed a five-year-old boy and injured another in Rampur village last month.

"Following repeated attacks, traps were laid at different places around the village to catch the wild cat," Singh said.
