BANGALORE: Tourism minister Anand Singh has promised to visit the Bannerghatta Biological Park and ensure all safety measures are taken.

Dayanand ( Congress) raised the issue of the development in the park and referred to the recent death of techie Satwik Shastry.

He blamed it on the improper infrastructure in the park. The minister said: "It has happened despite the elephant trenches. Of the allocated Rs 20 crore for the development of the park, Rs 13.48 crore has been released and Rs 11.92 crore spent.''

He said all the incomplete works would be completed by May 2013. Referring to Muthyalamaduvu, the minister said works like chain-link fencing, sun shade, recreation, parking, pathway, toilets, dinosaur platform and lighting had been taken up and they would be completed by December 2012.
