Goa state board for wildlife constituted

The state government has constituted the state board for wildlife for a period of three years under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.

PANAJI: The state government has constituted the state board for wildlife for a period of three years under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.

The notification was issued by the under secretary forest Pushpa Naik, which states that forest minister Alina Saldanha is the vice chairman and three MLAs Ramesh Tawadkar of Canacona, Subhash Phaldessai of Sanguem and Ganesh Goankar of Sanvordem are members of the board.

The other members of the board are Sandeep Azrenkar, Nisarga Nature Club, Rajendra Kerkar, Vivekanand Environment Brigade, Mohan Gaonkar, Sanvordem Pragati Manch, A. G. Untawale, retired NIO scientist, Abhijit Prabhudesai, Curtorim, Manoj Borkar, Carmel college, Nuvem, P Janarthanam, Botany department and A K Shanbag, Zoology department, Goa university, Nirmal Kulkarni, ecologist, Filip Fernandes, wildlife enthusiast, Ajay Pereira and Umesh Gaonkar.

The chief wildlife warden, government of Goa is been appointed as member on the 31-member board which also will have representatives of state and central governments departments.
