DEHRADUN: An elephant calf was found injured in Dhikala range of Jim Corbett National park after it was allegedly attacked by a tiger, an official said.

The one-and-a-half-month-old calf was found with legs fractured by forest guards during patrolling, Park Director Vinod Singhal said.

"The calf might have been attacked by a tiger," he said, adding it was taken to a veterinary hospital in Ramnagar for treatment.

Two days ago, a 10-year-old tiger was found dead in Dhela range of the park. Authorities at Corbett, however, ruled out any foul play behind the death of the tiger.
