ERI and Ecoreco unveil “ERI India” in Tokyo, marking a milestone in e-waste recycling and circular resource recovery

ERI, a leading U.S. material resource recovery and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) company, and Eco Recycling Limited (Ecoreco), India’s pioneering publicly listed e-waste recycling and resource recovery company, have formally unveiled “ERI India” in Tokyo, marking a significant milestone in their strategic partnership.

The announcement was made before an audience of more than 800 participants from the global recycling community, alongside senior government officials.

The ERI India initiative brings together ERI’s global expertise in IT Asset Disposition, technology reuse, data security, material recovery and advanced recycling technologies with Ecoreco’s Indian infrastructure, operating experience, regulatory understanding and resource-recovery capabilities.


The proposed ERI India platform is intended to create a technology-driven and internationally aligned ecosystem spanning secure IT Asset Disposition, data destruction, refurbishment and remarketing, reverse logistics, e-waste recycling and resource recovery.

ERI contributes extensive international experience in ITAD, technology reuse, data security, material recovery and responsible recycling practices. Ecoreco brings more than two decades of experience in India’s recycling ecosystem, supported by established infrastructure, regional networks and knowledge of the Indian regulatory environment.

Together, the partners aim to connect global practices and technologies with India’s growing capabilities in responsible recycling and circular resource recovery.

At the heart of the initiative is a broader shift in how end-of-life electronics are viewed. Rather than treating discarded electronics solely as a waste-management challenge, ERI India seeks to recognise them as a significant source of secondary materials and valuable resources.

Through responsible collection, secure ITAD, refurbishment, reuse, recycling and advanced material recovery, the initiative aims to preserve valuable materials within the circular economy, reduce the need for virgin resource extraction and contribute to more resilient and sustainable supply chains.

As the partnership progresses, ERI India is intended to contribute to the evolution of India’s recycling ecosystem and support a more resource-efficient, technology-driven and circular future.
