NEW DELHI: The Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Combating Climate Change, New Delhi ( MGICCC) celebrated World Environment Day (WED) on Saturday by organising drawing & painting competition among Delhi schools.

Speaking on the eve of the WED, SK Saxena, director of MGICCC, said that creating awareness among the people on climate change is very important. "The rampant tampering with the environment has resulted in the drastic changes like crops failure, water scarcity or disease outbreak," said Saxena.

“We should adopt corrective measures, which include energy efficiency & conservation,” Saxena said.

The MGICC is working in the field of research & training to create awareness among the people about the effects of climate change.
