Featured content: Customization is key for Suzlon's success, says CEO

Discussions in Rio today gave me the opportunity to talk about a theme which is most central in Suzlon: our capacity to adapt to the local culture and needs wherever we go.

The Trade and Sustainable Development Symposium, held by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), was a great chance to discuss inovation, technology, industrial policy in order to enable sustainability and inclusive green growth with panelists from the World Bank, UNICA, the Brazilian Sugar Cane Industry Association, the Indian Council of Energy, Environment and Water, among others.

While in the panel, it came to my mind how Brasil and Indian markets are similar in so many ways, specially about the necessity of knowing your customer and adapting to its needs.

Customization is the key for our success in every country we operate, but specially in Brazil - that's where the technology and research components have great importance. It was only by knowing and hearing our customers for this past six years that we were able to grow and install 390 MW of wind energy in the country, helping to develop the great green potential of Brazil.

Today Suzlon was also able to participate in a second panel, being represented by Nick Archer, VP of the Group for Public Relations and Public Affairs, in a discussion runned by The Energy and Resources Institute ( TERI) about green economy and inclusive growth for a sustainable future.

It was again a good opportunity to share with the participants our efforts in contributing to create a green economy, not only showing how we intend do that in the future, but mostly how we do that everyday.
