The controversy began with Barkha Bisht’s recent interview. In a conversation with Siddharth Kanan, the actress blamed Indraneil Sengupta and accused him of infidelity. She stated that he had chosen to move out of their relationship while she attempted to save it. “If it were in my hands, I would still be married. We had a good marriage. For four years, I have constantly felt that I wish I could be lesser in everything- maybe things could have been okay,” she added.


Barkha Bisht claimed that she had confronted Indraneil Sengupta about his relationship with actress Ishaa Saha. However, he didn’t give her a “satisfactory” answer.

On the other hand, Indraneil Sengupta has claimed that he and Barkha Bisht were very different individuals from the first day. In a recent interview, he explained that he did not want to call his marriage a “failure.”
“It (the relationship) has worked for 13 years. It didn't go forever. Why is the idea of a relationship 'forever'? It is good if it is forever. There have been good moments, very good moments and also bad moments," said the actor. He added that the divorce changed him in a positive way.
