Abhijeet Bhattacharya has this to say about his songs with Shah Rukh Khan

Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who was the voice behind many of Shah Rukh Khan’s hit songs, has once again taken a dig at the actor. In a recent interview, he stated that only the songs of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chalte Chalte were a hit. Shah Rukh Khan and Abhi...

Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Shah Rukh Khan were one of the biggest singer-actor duos in the 90s and early 2000s. Now, Abhijeet has opened up on his relationship with the superstar. In a recent interview, the singer, who was the voice behind many of Shah Rukh Khan’s hit tracks, talked about his ‘awkward’ bond with the Bollywood actor. Abhijeet also claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s 2003 movie with Rani Mukerji - Chalte Chalte - was an average film and only its songs were popular.

The singer has frequently hinted at not having a good bond with Shah Rukh Khan. He once again insinuated that he did not receive adequate credit for his tracks picturised on King Khan.

Abhijeet’s relationship with Shah Rukh Khan

The singer revealed in a conversation with ANI that he had an “awkward” bond with the Pathaan star. “We’re like twins, I mean, it seems that way with the voice. Now I realize that all these songs aren’t mine. Shah Rukh sang this song, Shah Rukh wrote this song, Shah Rukh composed the music, Shah Rukh made the film, Shah Rukh is the cinematographer. Everything is Shah Rukh. What can I do? People tell me it’s Shah Rukh’s song, and then I realize, oh, right, it’s not mine. Sab kuch woh hi hai toh bhai main kya karun? (Everything is about him, so what should I do?)"

Abhijeet also spoked about singing for Shah Rukh Khan’s romantic drama Chalte Chalte. Abhijeet stated, “Chalte Chalte film average hi thi, gaane hit the, sirf gaane hi hit the, par ab kya kar sakte hain. (Chalte Chalte was an average film, only the songs were hit. But what can we do.)" The singer had crooned Suno Naa from the film, one of its most popular tracks.

Abhijeet’s past statements on Shah Rukh Khan

In 2018, Abhijeet Bhattacharya had claimed that after he stopped working with Shah Rukh Khan, the actor did not have any hit songs. Last year, the Suniye Toh singer said that the Jawan star knew he had been hurt over not receiving credit for their songs. Abhijeet cited Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na as the film where he first got offended over not receiving credit.
