Violence erupts in West Bengal's Lok Sabha polls with clashes, injuries, and bombs. CPIM's Mohammed Salim exposes fake agents, Trinamool scuffles. ECI demands a detailed report, AITC files complaints, while peaceful voting reported by Isha Khan Ch...

This phase is an acid test for the Left and Congress as two Malda seats - Malda South and Malda North - and Murshidabad and Jangipur went to polls. Murshidabad CPIM candidate Mohammed Salim 'caught two fake agents' posing as Left agents in Raninagar's Keshabpur. He identified them at a booth in Domkal. They were handed over to the police later. Salim was also involved in a scuffle with Trinamool supporters at a village in Raninagar, who shouted "go back".
In Malda's Batnar Rampur, a bomb exploded. In Malda's Sujapur, three Trinamool workers received eye injuries after being beaten with a bamboo stick, allegedly by Congressmen.
BJP's Jangipur candidate Dhananjay Ghosh engaged in a scuffle with Trinamool workers. Ghosh allegedly threatened to do a repeat of the Sitalkuchi incident. AITC has filed a complaint against Ghosh for heckling and assaulting Trinamool's block chief.
In South Malda, a Trinamool worker's eye was injured in a scuffle with Congress members. Congress's Malda candidate Isha Khan Chowdhury said, "Except for a few minor incidents, voting was peaceful."
