There is a choice between joining BJP or going to Tihar, says TMC's Mahua Moitra

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress Krishnanagar candidate Mahua Moitra on Wednesday said there is a choice between joining BJP or going to Tihar, a day after the Enforcement Directorate registered an ECIR against the expelled Trinamool Congress MP under PMLA and businessman Darshan Hiranandani in the cash-for-query case.

Moitra to X-Handle on and said, “BJP’s doors are open. The other option is Tihar.” She also revealed a whatsapp chat with her mother in X-Handle and praised her mother for supporting her and saying Mahua should give power of attorney to her mother, in case ED/CBI arrests her, so that her mother can file the nomination.

“My mother’s answer to BJP’s daily ED/CBI lovefest. You rock Mummy- the original Sherni!” Moitra said in her X Handle and reveals her mother’s chat. Responding to Moitra's comment, BJP Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari said, "Our Krishnanagar Rajmata will win with more than two lakh margin. Let Moitra keep her bags packed."


Moitra, who campaigned in Asannagar and Bhimpur area of her Krishnanagar Constituency, has said earlier that ED, CBI and NIA have become branch organizations of BJP just like Trinamool Congress has Youth, Women wings.

Earlier, the ED had filed a case under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) against Moitra. ED had also issued third summons to the expelled MP for questioning in connection with a FEMA violation case, which she skipped, citing election campaign. Moitra had also skipped her scheduled appearances on February 19 and March 11.
